14. A short review on pathophysiology of lead toxicity

Abstract

Lead toxicity is a serious issue around the globe which often results in severe health complications and physiological disturbances which range from genetic mutations to cellular and biochemical alterations in enzymes etc. and in severe cases may initiate cancer. But these physiological disturbances are diagnosed in time then chelation therapy is recommended. But still effective general public awareness is required to reduce the frequency of lead poisoning cases. That is why; this review has been done not only to highlight the need to explore better ways to treat lead toxicity based disorders but also to promote general public awareness regarding this issue.
