Abstract

Amongst all the techniques discussed in this review, Soxhlet extraction Liquid-Liquid Extraction, Extraction by Solid Phase, Heat Reflux Extraction and Solid Phase Micro-extraction (SPME) methods are considered as traditional techniques while Supercritical Fluid Extraction, Enzyme-Assisted Extraction Method and Ultrasound Assisted Extractions are considered as advanced techniques. The benefits, drawbacks procedures and principles are discussed in this article. the limitations that affect the productivity of each technique are covered. To achieve a larger extraction yield or improve the overall quality of the extracted product, research is ongoing to further refine the extraction processes. These improvements can involve altering existing approaches or integrating multiple extraction techniques into a single procedure. Future researchers interested in improving extraction strategies will find value in the theoretical knowledge presented in this paper.
